Back to Projects
Got a couple that's gettin' the glue this winter.
Working on a cross Fat Boy and Phoenix. Thus we have a Phoenix Boy, or Fat Phoenix.
It gets a Aerotech 24mm motor, with zipperless design and baffle.
Also working on a 4X Mosquito, with through the body fins. It will get a Aerotech 24mm motor. The fins are a two ply with Zebra cloth. BT-80 tube with a Fat Boy nose cone. probable will get the zipper less design also.
Also have a Loc Graduator. Still getting experience building "simple" rockets before assembling this one. Got my 29mm already. Hope to get my Level One Cert. this spring with this rocket; or if my daughter is good to me this Christmas, maybe a real nice Hawk would do the trick.
March 2000
Got the "Fenix Fat Boy" done with a few modifications. With some help from Steve Bloom (Thanks Steve), I added a little more body tube to allow for a chute. Did a home built motor retention for the 24MM, nice little baffle, and a little paint. Did a test run on a D15......very nice.......good recovery. Found some extra BT laying around and put a Fat Boy nose cone on it and added it to the fin can. Two rockets for the price of one?!
The Mosquito is coming along nicely and should fly this Summer against Steve Bloom's 29MM Fat Boy in a drag race.
Graduator is still on the shelf, but I'm thinking of a 38MM for it for my Level 1.
April 2000
Finished the 4X Mosquito and is ready to fly on a 29mm. Should see a good drag race against a 29mm Fat Boy. (Steve B's).
Finished the LOC Graduator and flew it on a H128 for my Level 1 cert. The Hawk is in the mail and a Honest John might be coming soon. Thinking of doing a upscale of a Quark??????
